cleaning a seriously dirty vinyl floor; any suggestions?

I am about to tackle an elderly friends kitchen floor and it is seriously dirty as they were too frail to manage. Dirt is ingrained and probably hasn't been done for a year

any ideas on the best thing to deep clean it? I don't have access to a steam mop

I use boiling water from the kettle small squirt of bleach and a squirt of flash
If it is really bad try a fairly wet mopping first to loosen the dirt and keep going over it

a microfibre mop? the cloths are very good at getting into real filth so a mop might do the same on a floor. Is it smooth vinyl or textured?

otherwise hands, knees & scrubbing brush, I reckon.

(is buying a steam mop out of the question? Aldi have them for £25 this week)

Washing up liquid, warm water and a scrubbing brush.

I was afraid you would say scrubbing brush!!

Vinyl is textured to look like slate- urgh...all little crevices trapping dirt

Ciff and a scrubbing brush, dry and then bleech with hot water and a mop.

I used to have to do mine with bleach and a scrubbing brush. Sorry!

Steam mop did nothing

Flash Magic Erasers! Honestly they are amazing. You will need a few to do a floor but they remove grime and ground in stains like nothing I have ever tried. I am evangelical about them.

will do pics; I am strangely looking forward to this as I like putting peoples houses in order- sorting, cleaning and decluttering. My own however is covered in crumbs and cat fluff

I second magic erasers. Those white sponges you wet with water and act like very fine sandpaper......such a difference for ingrained dirt compared to a mop....but this is easier to do for a tiny kitchen then a really big one

I've got white Lino which gets ingrained with dirt

I get little dish sponges with the scouring side bottle of bleach and got water

Squirt bleach on floor and scrub then wipe with hot water comes up a treat

Get one of those stiff bristle outdoors brooms to save your back/knees.

I use a scrubbing brush. Which is precisely why I'm having tiles laid.

I use a scrubbing brush with Vinyl Floor Polish This polish leaves a lovely shiny finish after use with a protective layer.
