What do you do with pillows that 'went wrong' in the washing machine?

You know what I mean - the filling has gone all over the place inside. Do you bother unstitching to arrange it or just chuck?

bin it and get hollow fibre pillows.

Just bought new pillows today for exactly this reason following a toddler + wee incident. Glad they are not recoverable. Usually have down pillows on top and they wash OK.

Febreeze.

Am lazy.

If we're off camping anytime soon I save them for that and then bin or, if not, then the dog inherits them. Until she tries to eat them or starts flinging them about, then they finally reach landfill.

Why can't anyone make pillows that can be washed? Confused
I have a king size duvet (spun down, not feather) that I have had for 14 yrs that is washed regularly and it's perfect, like the day I bought it

I put clothes pegs all around the pillows before putting in the washing machine. This helps to keep the pillows in shape.

Good idea Going. What speed spin do you use? I imagine that's quite noisy?!

It's not noisy at all. Just usual spin.

Reading this thread I am feeling quite lucky with my pillows, I have just washed them (60c, and a fast spin) and dried them in the tumble dryer (one at a time as we only have a tiny 3kg dryer) and they all came out fine except for one - I just bashed and shook it a bit and it is now back to normal! Mine are a mixture of cheap synthetic type ones (mine and dd2 as we can't sleep on feathers) and feathers (DH).
