you can buy a colour run thing from the supermarket

MrsBadger · 08/01/2007 15:52

you need Dylon Colour Run Remover - from Tesco etc

Cadbury · 08/01/2007 15:52

oh no! That is soooo annoying. You can get somethig in supermarkets that will take the run dye out of things but I can't think what it's called - hopefully someone who is more of a godess will come along with a better idea.

Flumpybumpy · 08/01/2007 15:54

I can't get to supermarket til tomorrow, will it still work if I leave the clothes to dry or do I need to do something straight away???

If the clothes are all pure white (or supposed to be!) you can soak them in a solution of bleach and water and that should remove the pinkness.

clayre · 08/01/2007 16:01

put it all back in and wash it all again, dont let it dry, i did that with all my kids new clothes they got for xmas

pianist · 08/01/2007 16:17

Yes, you must use the colour run remover (or net curtain whitener is just as good). Don't let the clothes dry out - if you can't get to the shops yet, just keep them in a sink of water until you can.

Cappuccino · 08/01/2007 16:19

don't put synthetic fibres into bleach though; only 100% cotton

2nervesleft · 08/01/2007 16:21

Make sure you keep them in cold water otherwise hot water will 'set' the color.

Lorina · 08/01/2007 16:21

Dont let them dry. You will have a rinse-hold programme on your washing machine so it sits in the water. It will be fine to leave it in there for 24hours

DumbledoresGirl · 08/01/2007 16:30

Is that why so many "white" bras of mine have gone grey Cappuccino? Or is it that I wash them at 60 degrees?

Cappuccino · 08/01/2007 16:54

dg you know you're supposed to hand wash your bras in pure soap flakes using gently warmed morning dew collected in a natural wooden bowl

get your act together

MrsBadger · 08/01/2007 17:00

I just stopped buying white bras, has worked a treat...

JanH · 08/01/2007 17:13

Cut out the middleman and buy everything grey (or pink) in future.

Lol Cappuccino. Bloody sensitive things, bras. I say, BURN 'EM! Oh no, that has been done before, hasn't it?

Mrsbadger, non-white bras, nice idea, but then I would have to buy non-white knickers to match and that would be too much effort.

Flumpybumpy · 09/01/2007 11:01

All my white bras and knickers are now al grey so they still match and It's like I have new undies!!!!!!

I have used colour-run remover and half of it is back to white the rest still pink. The funny part is my stuff is white and DH's still pink, he is not impressed

Have stuck them all back in with a glo-white sachet so wish me luck!!!

You'll get to the bleaching option soon! Honestly, I have sometimes submitted my ruined clothing to 5 or 6 so-called remedies and then resort to neat bleach!
