It's not that exciting, but I've been scrubbing away with a toothbrush and a general mr muscle bathroom cleaner and they're not shifting.

Can anyone recommend anything to try?

Bleach?

FadedRed · 04/01/2016 10:51

Looks to me like limescale. Try a limescale remover. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes them scrub with a non abrasive brush or sponge. You will probably need to do this a couple of times to remove the build up.

Do you mean the yellowish marks or the vast amount of grout that seems to have been shoved on those tiles?!!

Cloudybutwarm · 04/01/2016 11:07

The yellowish marks Grin it's not dhs neatest effort!

I use Dettol Mould and Mildew remover which contains bleach and gets rid of this as well.

I would use this stuff from Lakeland. It's quite powerful.

And if that doesn't work, I'd use the mould remover from the same range at Lakeland. I've used both, they are both great.

Put some vinegar on it and leave it for 5 mins. Come back and rub it hard with a toothbrush. If it starts to come away, then you know its limescale.

Once you know its limescale, buy one of the cleaners recommended upthread. Or viakal. Or vinegar. Or lemon juice. Or basically anything that disolves limescale!

Vikal (think that's how you spell it) works really well on my bathroom sink plug when it goes this colour. Makes it go to the white it was before.

Dettox mould and mildew remover....marvellous stuff for thisSmile!

ArkATerre · 10/01/2016 13:13

Bleach and bicarbonate of soda mixed into a paste and left on for a few hours.

ShowOfHands · 10/01/2016 13:16

Bleach and bicarb. Seriously the best thing. Paint on the paste, go out for a few hours and rinse off. It's magic.

Its the type of silicone that has been used. Was it a cheap one? Dont use silicone any cheaper than £25.

Secondly it can be the type of cleaning product that you use to clean your bathroom that can make it go yellow.

We had to re silicone ours when this happened as nothing would shift it
