DS has to wear white shirts for school and the collars are starting to get marked. Any top tips on bringing them back sparkly white and clean?

This was posted on a thread earlier. I can't say I use the eco products, but there's some good advice here. Keep whites seperate, wash on 60 or above and use a bio or non bio powder, not a liquid, for whites.

I use shampoo on DH's white shirt collars to remove the yellow stains from oils in hair and skin. And I always add a shake of Napisan to my white loads. Helps remove stains. I generally just do a 40C wash, although might do a 60C if shirts or bedding need an extra clean.

For extremely tough stains I might soak in a mild bleach solution overnight before washing separately.

I've heard that hot washes can set stains. Not sure how true that is, but most things seem to come out in my 40C washes with Napisan.

"I've heard that hot washes can set stains"

That's only true if you put the stained item immediately into hot water. Remember, modern washers are all cold fill and heat up to temperature so the stain doesn't set
