Infrequent but necessary jobs

I'm trying to be more organised.. Or just organised. I'm trying to compile a list of all those jobs that rarely get done. Cleaning the dispenser drawer on the washing machine, cleaning the tops of the cupboard. What is on your monthly / quarterly / bi annual / annual list?

Cleaning the 'old' stuff. (Old brassware, china that sits in cabinets and cupboards, basically anything that hasn't been used or cleaned recently.)

I dust the visible bits of books with a feather duster whenever I do the dusting, but I've only recently realised I should be taking every book off the shelf every year. Any tips on the best ways to dust books?

cleaning carpets, washing curtains and nets, washing/dry cleaning summer and winter duvets, cleaning inside of windows all yearly summer jobs

I've never cleaned my curtains. They've been up 3/4 years so I think they need doing. The books are in the study and as my DH works from home no cleaning goes on in there. I'd use one of those disposable fluffy dusters to do them. I think I just need to ruthlessly rehome most of them. I don't have Nick nacks or old things to dust, I used to love polishing the brass as a child!

I do need to work out the best time to clean the carpets. I have a vax which is excellent but finding the moment is key. I think I'll try and schedule it.

Oh yes, curtains. I only have one pair, but can't see a label on them. How can I find out if they can be machine washed?
Single duvets can be washed in the machine, but double ones have to be taken to the laundrette, which is a pain. I only bought my double one in October so I'm hoping I won't need to wash it for a while.

My king size duvet fits in my machine. Baby threw up an entire bottle at 4am when I was hime alone so I was very grateful to find that out. I do need to do ds1's and the spare room duvet they won't fit in my machine. I'll set a reminder for the start of April for that. We use a very light duvet all year round so no changing between seasons.

I have a thick duvet. I suppose I could wash it in the bath.

Can't believe this is what I'm doing on NYE.

My quarterly jobs are:
Descaling the kettle and coffee machine; cleaning the crumb tray of the toaster; cleaning and changing the filters of the extractor hood; hoovering under the beds; washing the cushion covers from sofa and bed cushions
I'm sure I'll remember some more!

Emptying the washing machine fluff filter thing.

Ours recently stopped draining, apparently this should be done every 6 months or so. Think we've had it about 4 years

Where is the fluff filter thing? I have no idea. If it's behind the machine, forget it anyway as I can't move it.

We have a bosch and it's in the front, yheres a fold down panel then you unscrew and pull out the filter. If it's as blocked as ours was that is not an easy job!

I've read the manual and mine is at the back. There's no way I can move the machine so I'm going to have to leave it. Maybe I'll just do an empty run of the machine?
