Are they actually weevils, not just flour beetle?
I got some when I bought some cheap dried chick peas from an Indian shop once.
You had better check through all your dry foodstuffs (cereal, pulses etc) and make sure they haven't spread. I think it was fairly easy to get rid of them if you throw away all the affected food and make sure everything else is in sealed jars.

Not sure about weevils but I had flour mites twice - both in Asda smart price plain flour which, for obvious reasons I now don't buy! I think they come from the shops, not your kitchen so nothing to do with YOUR hygiene. Just chuck the flour, check al your other opened dried foods (tea, coffee, rice etc) and chuck anything you find them in.

I tried to get Asda to compensate me but turns out they have a disclaimer printed somewhere that you should keep flour in a sealed container grrr.

I'm sure if you type weevils into google you'll get some info.

ALL flour has mites in it, they just haven't hatched yet. If you keep flour exposed to air or beyond the use by date then you will see mite activity because they have grown.

Asda must repackage all their old flour into the smart price stuff then - yuck.

Maybe I'll go wheat-free!
