Is your bedroom tidy?

If so, how do you keep it that way?

The rest of the house I can cope with just about, kids rooms I always make an effort with, but my bedroom is a pigsty.

I do have a busy life but can't really blame that, as I have always been like this. Messy bedroom as a child and haven't ever grown out of it. I would really like a nice bedroom though, am a LP and work full time, have struggled with depression and don't think sleeping and waking up in mess helps at all. I would really like my own bit of space to retreat to. It ends up as a dumping ground for washing/stuff that I don't want cluttering up the rest of the house. Along with general mess. I always mean to sort it but work full time, 4 DC and the rest of the house to keep on top of and then I just leap over the mess and crash into bed with exhaustion.

What do you do to make it a nice space and keep on top of it?

Ooh is there a correlation? Are the tidy people married? I'm a working lone parent too!

meglet high five! I might read my papers one day too Grin

I did notice there were a few working lone parents posting on here! I suppose in a couple the jobs can be shared and less is on one person, also a higher chance of someone being a naturally tidy person

I am divorced and my bedroom is immaculate Grin
Ex used to leave piles of worn once clothes everywhere and I'm sure it contributed to the divorce.
I have 2 wardrobes, a chest of drawers and dressing table, and bed.
That's it.
Only thing on dressing table is jewellery box , book and lamp
Clothes always put away.

I couldn't relax in a messy room

I'm a working lp to, it's easier having a tidy home when your on your own imo. My floors stay clean, random crap doesn't appear, the washing pile is smaller without his work clothes and man sized jeans ect.

My bed covers feel cleaner for longer, me and the dc both eat hot dinners at lunchtime so dinner is easier and doesn't mess up the kitchen. If your messy then your messy whether your on your own or not!

Another LP here any my room is semi tidy. It gets bad in the week mostly because we're permanently running late in the mornings so things just get thrown on the floor. Me and the kids blitz the whole house at the weekend.

But if you don't have time to tidy then you have to prioritise and my room is bottom of the pile because no one ever sees it. When I was on maternity leave my house was lovely and tidy. The dc's don't sleep and mess my room up (dd has even drawn on my furniture) so I can't get on top of it.
