So, I'm reliably informed by Mumsnet that I need a Magi-mix and a Kitchenaid. With the plan to put them on my Xmas list, I start my research . . . to find that Kitchenaid do lots of different products. Is it a Magi-mix food processor and Kitchenaid blender i need to complete me?!

You an get bits to add on to the Kitchen aid that will replicate the Magimix....

A Magimix is essentially a food processor (blades, graters and slivers).

A Kitchenaid is a stand mixer (similar to a Kenwood Chef) that has a bowl and whisk/beater attachments, which are ideal for mixing cake batters, whipping meringue etc.

As FlipFlops says, you can get a plethora of attachments for a Kitchenaid that can do similar things to a Magimix - for example, a blender jug, a meat grinder, slicing blades and the like.

I have to say, I find I use my Magimix more than my Kitchenaid, but that might just be because I haven't made an effort to "get to know" my KA. In as much as one can "know" a kitchen appliance...

Or a kenwood chef, which is a mixer that comes with a food processor and glass blender jug included
Just another option!

NannyR, your post has reminded me that I have a Kenwood Chef - not a KitchenAid! (Baby brain...as much as I hate that excuse...)

Tbh, if I'd bought the Kenwood Chef before the Magimix, I'd probably have made much more use of it and kept all the attachments much more accessible.
