They're awesome! I vote yes!

They do take up a fair bit of space, but that's the only downside I found.

Allgunsblazing · 28/09/2015 20:29

Yes!!! It is amazing! Cheap to run and mine takes two loads and dries them overnight. I bought the biggest one. Best thing I have ever done buying one.

RomComPhooey · 28/09/2015 20:39

We don't have space for a drier. Someone at work suggested a dehumidifier. Not as cheap as the Lakeland drier up front or to run maybe, but OMG it's efficient and the house doesn't get condensation/damp when we're drying laundry indoors. It's so efficient that I've been able wash, dry and put away 3 large loads in a single day when I'm around to hang it as it comes out of the machine. Ours is the Electrolux one in the recent Which dehumidifier best buys article. We hang/dry everything in our box room, which also heats up with the warm air that comes off the duhumidifier, and the dehumidifier stows away in a small cupboard when we have guests. I wouldn't go back to air drying and the heated rack we had before. We haven't had any musty smelling clothes since we switched.

Love mine .

Ahardmanisgoodtofind · 28/09/2015 20:40

Oh thank God,I've been nagging dp for one,but he doesn't trust the reviews Hmm but even he knows to trust mumsnet recommendations.
We'd definitely need the bigger one!there's a cover thingy on the website is it worth getting or is just the rack enough?

Ooh a dehumidifier complicates things, hadn't considered that.....

I have a Lakeland airer which is very rarely used. It's pretty bulky (so get it delivered I suggest if you do go for one as I struggled to get it into the boot of my estate car). I don't even find it especially effective and I didn't like the condensation it was causing. I use it occasionally but usually just hang clothes in the airing cupboard and they dry in 24 hours most times.

That electrolux dehumidifier sounds good though, what model is it RomCom?

DurhamDurham · 28/09/2015 20:46

It's posts like this that keep it as best seller I think, one comes around every few months and people rave about it. I used my mums and my clothes felt hard, were very creased and didn't smell fresh so it wasn't for me.

ShowOfHands · 28/09/2015 20:49

I bought the Aldi version a couple of years ago. It's bloody fabulous and cost me £12.99. If you stick a sheet over the top of the whole thing it dries very quickly indeed. I would have preferred a dehumidifier but I can't afford one.

RomComPhooey · 28/09/2015 20:58

It's the EXD25DN3W.

RomComPhooey · 28/09/2015 21:01

There was a higher scoring one on the Which reviews which John Lewis stock, but it was out of stock all of last autumn so we cracked & bought hours. It's been fab.

RomComPhooey · 28/09/2015 21:02

Ours, not hours!

Damnfinecoffee · 28/09/2015 21:03

Just coming in to say I absolutely love mine. Don't have the space for a tumble drier so bought one when I was pregnant and it's saved so much time. Especially at the moment where washing won't dry outside any longer and it's a bit too warm to have the radiators on.
It's a bit big but worth every penny Smile

charlie0123 · 28/09/2015 21:04

It's fab. I've had mine a year now and it gets used daily. Keeps everything out of the way.

winkywinkola · 28/09/2015 21:05

It's marvellous. Really helps out on rainy days.

Orangeanddemons · 28/09/2015 21:06

I didn't feel the love either. It didn't dry clothes particularly fast, and was such a faff to use.

slkk · 28/09/2015 21:08

Love mine for that in between time 2 you can't dry outside but radiators aren't on. Worth getting the big . Not too bulky, folds away behind curtains.

camtt · 28/09/2015 21:13

Thanks RomCom - off to save up for a dehumidifier then someone will be welcome to take the Lakeland massive great thing off my hands!

Alanna1 · 28/09/2015 21:13

I use mine with a sheet over it and a window slightly open. Works fine.

WalkingThePlank · 30/09/2015 17:43

We have one and it is great. DH and I were saying last week how we couldn't live without it. It genuinely is one of the best things I've ever bought (no, I don't work for Lakeland).

I have it running in my study so during the day (I work from home) it keeps me nice and warm without having to put the whole central heating system on.

CharleyDavidson · 30/09/2015 17:50

I got the aldi one too. I think I paid £20 for mine and it was well worth it. It is smaller than the lakeland one and gets warmer so it dries the clothes quicker - and warms the room it's in a bit too.

mrscee · 30/09/2015 18:08

I've got the lake land heated drier and I've had it for over 4 years and I love it. Well worth the money and if you stick a duvet cover over it things dry much quicker.

Luciferbox · 30/09/2015 18:10

Amazing. It was a life saver in the colder months as I didn't have a tumble dryer. It's cheap to run and never let us down. Worth every penny.

Luciferbox · 30/09/2015 18:11

Oh, I also bought a dehumidifier as I was paranoid of creating damp.

Fluffycloudland77 · 30/09/2015 18:15

Spin dryers are where it's at.
