Mould keeps forming on shoes etc in the bottom of my wardrobe..

What can I do to stop it happening? Confused
It doesn't happen anywhere else in the wardrobe but at the bottom is a shoe space. I did keep bags there but I am scared they will get mouldy.
There is nothing I can see causing it but it happens. Not thick green mould or anything just a hazy kind of mould. It's horrible.
Is there anything I can put in there to dry it out or stop it happening?

I use little dehumidifier bags in our wardrobes, I generally buy them from Amazon or eBay. They are clear plastic bags with little crystals in that absorb the water. Eventually when the bags are full of water you throw them and start again. It's scary how much moisture they absorb and they have made a big difference for us.

That sounds perfect. Is the water contained in the bag? (Stupid question but I haven't seen the bags) It can't leak out can it?
I will have a look on Amazon and get some. The mould thing freaks me out!

It's contained and ours have never leaked despite me frequently forgetting about them and leaving them hanging up for ages. I can't see a brand name on the box but ours are '15L small space dehumidifier bags' which I buy in packs of 3.

Check behind the wardrobe. My parents had this and found the wall was black with mould. It turned out some building works done by the previous owner had left the room with inadequate ventilation. Sorting the ventilation solved the issue.

You're so welcome, hope they work for you.

You should check the wall behind the cupboard. If your shoes are going mouldy you have a damp problem and should get it fixed before you need a whole wall replastering Shock

That was my thought - ventilation issues, especially if the wardrobe's on an external wall.
