Success!

Sink - taps have limescale round where the water comes out. I've just a gel on other areas but this is not touching the taps.

Toilet - brown standing under water line on either side, not down the middle. Have used toilet cleaner, bleach and loo brush. It doesn't work.

Bath - enamel is worn below the water line, and is rough. Soap/dirt clings. Cleaner runs and leaves clean streaks. Have tried sprays and foam. Tried spreading it out with scourers, scrubbing brush. Never looks clean.

Any tips appreciated!

Malt vinegar - put in loo and leave overnight. Soak cotton wool in malt vinegar and attach to end of Taos with elastic bands and leave overnight. The scale/brown stuff should then quite easily come off with a scourer. Very satisfying indeed.

Ooh great! So, to clarify - the vinegar i put on chips?

Op I've read that cola cleans lime scale off of toilets brilliantly, perhaps worth a try ?

Yes ordinary vinegar works a treat on taps/limescale. Haven't tried lemon but it sounds like it would be a more pleasantly scented option!

Not much help with the other things I'm afraid. I had the same problem with the loo but bleach left overnight did the trick. The marks come back every few months (v. old loo) so I need to redo it every so often. I hate using bleach but nothing else seemed to work, even scrubbing with a scourer didn't help.

If the enamel is worn/rough then I suspect you may not be able to make it look clean unfortunately. It would no longer have a smooth surface so would be permanently stained, I'm guessing.

I have the same issue with my bath and I find that (after cleaning) a going-over with one of those white magic eraser things makes a big difference.

I can't afford to use one up every time I clean the bath though so I tend to just do it when I know there will be visitors Blush

The bath is still clean without it but it just looks a bit more respectable afterwards.

Yep chip vinegar - about 41p in supermarkets - I use half a bottle for the loo. But I agree it does smell and I shall be trying lemon instead - just not sure if it would work as well in loo - as wouldn't you need loads? Magic
Erasers yes!!!!! Works a treat on stains on our old bath too.

I have an old bottle of vinegar as i don't use it often so that can go down the loo.

The bath will come clean but its a godawful almighty effort. I have heard of something you can put in a bathful of water to coat it as a cheaper option but no idea what it is.
