Sellotape marks on UPVC front door

I made the mistake of sticking banners onto our front door for a recent family birthday and cannot remove the tell-tale residue of the sellotape. I've tried all the usual spray products, gentle rubbing with a green scrubbing pad .......... all to no avail.

Please can any of you cleaning gurus advise?

Try salt and lemon juice on a cloth

Sof wipes, bought fro mThe pharmacy.i came across them when I had sticky residue on my CS wound. They are amazing on sticky marks and if safe to use on skin, should be safe on a door.

Sorry, that should be Zoff wipes.

Second sticky stuff remover, it's brilliant

MuddlePuddle · 31/07/2015 13:08

WD40 usually gets sticky stuff off for me.

A soft pencil eraser might work, it's great for the remains of stickers on hard surfaces.

brilliant! Thanks for the helpful replies.

I'll report back .................

Builders were taking some old film off our windows at work the other day and cleaned off the residue with something. I asked what they were using at it did an amazing job very quickly and easily - Johnson's baby shampoo!

Those flash magic sponges. We had marks all over our front door from previous tenants and itching removed it but I had a bathroom magic sponge in the cupboard. The front door came up a treat! White upvc.
