I have kept almost everything. I have box files and it goes in there but I really want a lovely wooden chest for each child so I can put everything in there. Birth cards, birthday cards. letters, etc.

lucykate · 22/11/2006 12:45

we sift through and just keep the best. use old ones up for wrapping pass the parcel at birthday parties, much more fun than newspaper.

McDreamy · 22/11/2006 12:47

I would love to keep everthing! I keep the firsts, so I have first picture from Preschool, first Mothers day card stashed away in her special box the rest of it I stick on the cupboards and renew as she brings more home.

spykid · 22/11/2006 12:48

err..... not a lot!

Cappuccino · 22/11/2006 12:49

very little

when they're at nursery or school they put it in a book at the end of the year

just tend to keep that to show their progress

anything special, sure - but only if you could actually frame it (not that I do)

but really after a week most of it is just a ratty bit of scribble after all

TeeCee · 22/11/2006 12:52

I don't keep the art that it just two red brushstrokes down a piece of gret paper, but I keep anything that has taken a bit of time/ effort.

I got my first piece of artwork from my 1q month old yesterday!
It was a red and blue butterfly and I had pictures of her painting it to accompany it from her childminder. Bless

Someone's top tip of the day was to take digital pic of some of the artwork and keep other bits. Think that's a good idea.

TeeCee · 22/11/2006 12:53

grey paper

11 month old

Sorry!

Nemoinapeartree · 22/11/2006 12:54

we have loads around the house but like TC I dont really keep the bits that are just a couple of lines that have taken 2mins. A lot are on the fridge, computer cupboard and DS has those peg things in his room.

southeastastra · 22/11/2006 12:55

have you eaten lunch MT?

foxinsocks · 22/11/2006 12:57

we have a wall in the living room where they put their pictures up (the ones we really like) - they also put the ones they like on the wall in their room. We take down the old ones and put new ones up when they come in.

Other than that, the recycling box sees a lot of them.

shouldbedoinghousework · 22/11/2006 12:58

I'm pretty good at recycling the worst unidentifable scribbles but dd has always been one to produce lots of artwork/notes and gets v sentimental about it all (as do I- it's all pretty sweet!). We have a "washing line" type of arrangement in the kitchen to display the best but then it just seems to stack up on the worktop. A scrap book may be best or wooden box (but then have to clear space in bedrooms for wooden box..)

God, all of it! We're running out of space. I got one of those lever arch files and let them put their art in there, in those PVC pockets you get from WHS, dated and with their names on them.

I'm like that with clothes, too, though. I can't bear to part with something they're too big for now but remembering them wearing.

Useless post. Sorry.

I'm hopeless with kids clothes too earlgrey. I'm tyring to get less attached to things as the kids grow up but it's so hard! I'm going to end up eith huge boxes bursting with sentimental stuff if I don't get my act together

None . We live in a flat and I have to be ruthless. Wish I had kept more now.
