Dishwasher - how long does a cycle take?

Moved house, inherited an integrated dishwasher. Never had one before and can't find a manual online so not sure what I'm doing with it? Been trying out different settings and things. Last night it seemed to take around 90 mins, is that normal or is there likely to be a quicker setting?

I think you'll just have to keep experimenting. The same temperature and level of wash on my old Bosch took over an hour longer than it does on the current Hotpoint. One of life's mysteries!

Yes agreed you will need to just play around with each programme. Mine has a 30 min quick wash, but the longest cycle on it is about 4 hours!

The eco one which they recommend be used most, is and hour and a half, so yours sounds about right.

Ours is about two hours.
What are the settings? We had one with pictures:
Waterfall = rinse
Glasses = less heavy duty (quick and less hot I guess)
Pan = medium
Pan with line under = heavy duty wash

Our current washing machine does it my temperature and the lower temps are much quicker.

Ours is a zanussi and has a dry setting too - total wash and dry takes just over 2.5 hours on a hot wash (for pans and stuff) if it's just plates and everyday things it's just under 2 hours, it's a 12 setting large dishwasher

If you can find the model listed anywhere a Google should bring up the manual :-)

my eco wash takes 2hrs 20 mins. I have a quick wash setting of 29 mins. I can speed up normal washes so that they take half the time but that uses more energy/water.

Eco takes over 2 hours. Normal takes 1:35 and I always use this one. I had an integrated one in a rented house and it took over 2 hours for normal.
Have you looked online for a manual?

Thanks all! This morning when I used it it didn't seem to drain properly and their was an inch of water still at the bottom after it was done. This afternoon tho I tried a different setting and it worked properly.

The picture settings are..

Pot with line under
Pot
Plate with bowl under
Rinse (I think!) with plate under
Glasses/cup
Glasses
Quick rinse (I think)

I used the rinse with plate under this aft and it took about 90 mins and drained properly.

Are salt and rinse aids must use or not?

If you know the brand, is there a manual online for a similar dishwasher (if not your own model), it might at least give you an indication of what those symbols mean.
Salt is a must if you live in a hard water area. Rinse aid, well I always use it even though my tablets claim to do ten things including 'rinse aid function'.

If it's built in, chances are it was made specifically for the kitchen company so it might not have a brand on it.

The pot icons usually mean cycles for heavier items (pans, baking trays, heavily stained items). The plate with a bowl is likely to be the cycle for everyday washing at 65 degrees. The plate with the rinse is likely to be the Eco cycle at 50 or 55 degrees. The glasses are for delicate items and the rinse only is...well...rinse only
