Tiny white bugs/mites

Has anyone else ever had these?

We moved into our house 6 months ago (it's a newbuild so we were the first in), and on the odd occasion I've noticed these tiny white mite type creatures on the floor in the hallway, usually around the edges where there is dust. I just assumed they were dust mites and said we need to hoover more. Basically they're the size of speck, a pale beige/white, got 6

Until today when I saw them depite the house being cleaned 2 days ago. So I looked on Google. Vast majority of what I found didn't match their description until I came to this: tinywhitemites.moonfruit.com/home/4582949774

While we THANK GOD don't have them at the level this poor woman had, it worries me that it's even possible. I thought they were only on the floors of the hallway and kitchen, but having just had a really close look I found one in a bowl on my kitchen surface and a few crawling around my counter. Needless to say I'm now freaked out and starting to clean meticulously.

Apparently in small numbers they're relatively harmless, but I just don't like the idea of them being there. I can accept they're a fact of life and it's easier just to try to keep the numbers down, but has anyone had these and got any tips (apart from trying to keep humidity levels down, hoover regularly, keep food sealed etc etc?). I'd never seen them before now...

I haven't got them, but on hard floors, especially underneath and behind kitchen units etc, I would use a Crawling Insect spray. It dries to a hard film (until you wash it off) that attacks the insects through their feet.

Dethlac is a well-known brand, but you will find others, including own-brands, in Supermarts, DIY sheds and Wilcos. The trigger-action sprays are better value than aerosols.

Thanks for that tip - not seen as many since we did a clean up again over the weekend but maybe we just reduced the numbers slightly... I hope
