Please recommend some decent pillows

I'm so uncomfortable, I've tried soft down, soft hollow fibre, memory foam.
I don't find any of them comfortable and always end up with a stiff neck or headache.

Please recommend me some lovely pillows

No advice but watching with interest. Ours seem to go lumpy within a year - should one be replacing pillows annually?? I recently splashed out £130 on a pair of dunlopillows which I had as a child and lasted ages but it's like sleeping with your head on a concrete block and they've gone on top of the wardrobe. Why are good pillows so hard to find??

Dear god £130 ShockShockShock

I replace mine probably 3-6 monthly

Agree that all pillows seem rubbish

John Lewis.

Another tip - lie down on the pillow facing upwards. With both hands grab the lower corner, raise your head slightly and lift the bottom corner of the pillow above your shoulders so it cradles your head. This is much more comfy than just lying on a flat pillow.

I've had White Company pillows. No complaints. DS2 has an ikea one which is horrible and lumpy, but he loves it.

We had a quest for good pillows until DH, whilst staying at a hotel, said "these pillows are what I want at home", so we looked at the label and ordered some!

Mitre Palace. They're still good, but we only got them just before Christmas. They're cheap enough that I'll replace every year if necessary!

Oriental pillows are fantastic. Similar to these. Check out tk maxx too. www.amazon.co.uk/Snuggledown-Oriental-Pillow-Cotton-Cover/dp/B0001PY4BU

Well the Dunlopillows come with a 5 year guarantee so in theory that's only £26 per year - which is a lot less than replacing every 3-6 months! However I can now see that maybe they last 5 years as you can't actually use them...maybe I should get them out and try again. I'm going to look up the recommendations now!

The best ones I ever got were 'Pillows that love to be washed' from M&S years ago. They are like new still. I recently replaced some rather grotty older ones for the spare room with Silentnight 'Soft like down' pillows from Argos. They are on special offer (again) at the moment - four pillows plus protectors for £18. Seem pretty good.

We got some own branded pillows from Bedeck in Cheshire Oaks for about £18 for 2 about 6 months ago. They're very comfortable and are far better than the memory foam brick I was convinced would be like sleeping on as cloud - how wrong I was!

Is it possible your pillow(s) are too high? I swapped from using two to just one. I was waking up with a stiff neck and actually realised my two pillows were causing the problem as it stopped when I went to one.

I splashed out on a Tempur Cloud pillow with my birthday money this year. I found it a little firm to begin with but it is sooo comfy. I normally wake up during the night with my head and neck aching making me roll over - but no more!!

We bought Dorma pillows from Dunelm. They're fantastic.

I find sleeping with a small rolled up hand towel under my neck prevents the stiff neck syndrome regardless of the pillow I am using. I always take one with me when going on holiday.
