Laundry detergent dilemma!

I've recently decided to turn to Ecover for all cleaning products and am pretty much happy with the ones I've used so far. Now I've always had a slight problem with the smell of laundry when it's been line dried (is it just me? It seems to lose it's lovely clean smell when dried outside Confused) but it's so much worse since I've been using Ecover. It really smells awful. I can't describe it other than to say it just doesn't smell clean :(

Is there an eco-friendly alternative than smells better, or am I going to have to go back to the usual non-bio?

(I'm using both the laundry detergent and fabric softener if that makes any difference)

You could try Method
I've not tried their washing detergent but their other cleaners are fab and smell gorgeous.

Brilliant, thank you!

I like BioD (the liquid, not the powder which I find not so great). There are tons of eco friendly brands out there, Ethical consumer has a good guide:

To be honest, except for laundry, washing up liquid and dishwasher stuff, we only really use bicarb, vinegar, and/or microfibre cloths. Cheap as well as green.

BioD's loo cleaner is the best limescale removing thing I've ever used- sorts out scummy old taps and shower screens.

I switched to Method a couple of years ago and love it. I don't dry outside though. I am very smell sensitive (can smell people's clothes washing product as they walk by me in the street) and I find Method very nice.
