How do you stop clothes from bobbling and whites stay looking white?

How do you stop clothes from bobbling and whites stay looking white? Just that really, all our clothes seem to look really worn out after being washed a few times. My machine is only 2 years old. Just get annoyed with worn out looking clothes lol help please?

What detergent do you use? powders are better for whites as they contain bleaches. don't know about bobbling though

Yes only wash whites with other (pure) whites - no coloured trims etc. And use powder rather than liquid as I think they have optical brighteners in?

Not sure about bobbling though - is it dependent on fabric? I find some fabrics bobble more easily than others.

The bobbling will depend on the fabric itself, rather than how it is treated I think.

Does anyone know if those vanish gold things are good at keeping whites white? Or not to be recommended on kids clothes?

I only use eco-powder due to skin allergies and I keep my whites white by only washing with pure whites, no coloured trims or stripes. I add laundry bleach. My whites are never 'blue white' as the allergy safe powder doesn't have optical brighteners in but they are never grey.

Bobbling? Crap fabrics. We've all been had on that front. I take great care of the clothes and some still bobble.

Only wash whites with whites, use a biological powder for whites, and add a slug of Napisan to each wash. Oh, and don't wash anything thats not 100% cotton at above 40' as hot washes will make poly go grey.

for whites, either a good bio or non bio powder (both contain bleaching agents) and a hot wash - 60 degree minimum.

Turn your clothes inside out before washing it's a faff

Whites: wash only with pure whites. At 40 with bio powder and vanish white powder. And dry outside in sunlight wherever possible.

I bought a battery operated bobble remover from Argos, works a treat.

Don't wash towels in with clothes as it can cause bobbling. I think drying outdoors gets whites white.

I found this happens with washing machines that are quite new, I think it is because the more economical they are the less water they use which leads to more friction on your clothes. I hate it!!
