what have you put in your dishwasher that hasn't survived?

Following on from another thread, anything you wouldn't put in there? I avoid wooden spoons, wooden chopping boards, baking trays and anything from my magimix. I can't say the same for DH frustratingly.

Oh GOD.. on the rinsing thing: I recommended a dishwasher to PIL, who are getting on, as MIL is a decent cook and FIL doesn't lift a finger, so she has a lot of work both cooking and washing up.

Now PIL have read the dishwasher instruction booklet cover-to-cover and it is GOSPEL, so they stagger from the sink to the dishwasher with every single thing, which must not only be rinsed but totally clean BEFORE going in. So the amount of work saved is virtually nil. They then have an argument about whether one of them is stacking it correctly, which takes still more time.

These are the same PIL who built a second kitchen for their house because they couldn't be bothered to go through their 50-year-old kitchen stuff and get rid of some very old, cracked mugs and some very black saucepans that were a wedding present. So a second kitchen was built at a cost of £70k to house things that were worth about £15 tops.

Apologies for derail! Things I've put in that haven't survived: lock and lock boxes (the lids go funny and don't quite fit any more). A stainless steel cafetiere (the handle fell off).
