mouldy bath toys - bin ?

Noticed some of DD bath toys had gone a bit dark on the inside. The ducks especially.

Any way I can clean them or should I just bin ?

Soak them in solution with Milton sometimes works - depends if you can get the solution in and the dirt out of the insides.

A tip for future bath toys: if you don't want them for their squirty qualities, put a spot of glue over the hole so the water doesn't get inside :)

I would bin them but I have a thing about mould and it would just bother me that I couldn't get at every last bit.

Good tip about the glue!

Strong Bleach/water enema, leave overnight, rinse well, sucking clean water in until bleach is no more.

I bin them.

Fleecyleesy · 20/04/2015 21:08

I binned ours. Not worth the risk IMO. We now have bath toys that don't take in water and they have lasted nearly a decade.

I put them in a bucket of hot water and bleach and leave for several hours before rinsing well to get rid of bleach.

mrsmeerkat · 20/04/2015 21:37

I would bin as they are cheap to replace

mousmous · 20/04/2015 21:39

bin and glue the hole shut when if you get replacements.

RedCrayons · 20/04/2015 21:44

I did the soaking in boiling bleach once, then was worried that I hadn't rinsed all the bleach off and I would I inadvertently poison my babies. So then I binned them.

Valsoldknickers · 20/04/2015 21:48

I used warm water with washing up liquid and some Milton fluid and left them to soak overnight. There are clean again and happily used by little Val when he is having a soak!
