Is it only the Ovenu man who can save me/it?

Help please.

LOTS and LOTS of Mr Muscle.........

utterlyconfused · 02/11/2006 19:10

If your buyer wants your oven, let 'em have it...

popsycal · 02/11/2006 19:10

oven pride
wilkos

PretendFriend · 02/11/2006 19:16

Oh get ovenu, Tinker - it's only about £35-40 and honestly, it's worth twice that!

Tinker · 02/11/2006 19:17

Not sure where nearest wilkos is.

Will try Mr M.

It's going to be messy isn't it?

Our last tenants got the oven man in and it looked beautiful !

GunpowderTreasonAndSNOT · 02/11/2006 19:20

Can't you just tell them they're welcome to it but it needs cleaning?

Tinker · 02/11/2006 19:21

Discovered there's an oven man in road we're hoping to move to! Would love to see how clean it could look

Tinker · 02/11/2006 19:22

Even I have some pride! He actually wants to pay for it

lakeland sell a fantastic oven cleaner

you put it on, leave it for a few hours, and then come back wearing full protective clothing

is seriously dangerous. But works

Tinker · 02/11/2006 19:31

Excited about Lakeland selling anything dangerous. Will check out.

ovenu cost us £65 .. let him have the oven but tell him it'll cost to clean it

gRowlers · 02/11/2006 19:34

I clean mine myself but be prepared, it does take hours and a serious amount of elbow grease and hot water.
If you are strapped for cash, do it. Mr Muscle is only 3 or 4 notes but if the buyer is paying you, I'd be v tempted to get oven man in.

Tinker · 02/11/2006 19:36

I'll have go myself first and then see how shameful it then looks.

threebob · 02/11/2006 19:39

Is he going to rent out the house then? I would just let him have it and explain that it needs ovenu man.

I gave some wardrobes to our buyer because I couldn't be bothered dismantling them and moving them downstairs and then trying to get someone to take them away. He wanted to look at them to decide how much to pay - and I said he could just have them sight unseen (house was a tip and didn't want sale to collapse).

Everyone was happy. He got something for nowt and I saved.

southeastastra · 02/11/2006 19:43

if it's really bad try to scrape as much as you can out yourself with a knife or scraper type thing. it's easier to do when the oven is hot. soapy wire wool is good too

StrawberryMoon · 02/11/2006 19:44

if theyve said they want it without looking properly, id just have a go at cleaning yourself!

Tinker · 03/11/2006 09:59

Thanks all. Exciting day ahead for me!

tinshoes · 03/11/2006 10:26

you could get it cleaned professionally for about £40

ludaloudbang · 03/11/2006 10:28

Where do you get oven pride from FB? I've looked everywhere!

Flumpybumpy · 03/11/2006 10:31

Sainsburys sell it. If your local one doesn't have it, ask at customer services, they can put a request in so they can stock it in future.

Also, try Robert Dyas.

I think it may be a job for the professionalls! I get round to cleaning mine about every 6 months and it is a huge job. However hard I scrub or whatever I use it is never 100%.

ludaloudbang · 03/11/2006 10:32

oh..sorry x posts! we don't have a sainsburys..maybe I've just missed it...morrisons are usually quite good...I'll ask next time thanks
