I've seen white vinegar recommended. I just wondered if anyone had tried this or anything else? Thanks.

I don't know what silestone is but vinegar is the very best "product" I've found for my granite worktops.

I keep a plant spray filled half water, half vinegar, spray over the worktop leave 30 seconds or so, wipe off. Comes up like new every time.

You just need to make sure it's not going to dissolve your surface - I know you can't use it on marble.

Thanks very much Discounted. Silestone is quartz.

I have Quartz. I was told to not use anything containing vinegar on Quartz or granite. I use washing up liquid, very fine steel wool (0000) & buff off thoroughly. I do that about once a month & the rest of the time I use w u liquid or Kilrock granite cleaner & the thin e cloths.

I use viakal , as long as its not left on for ages and rinsed off ,it does no harm. Have used for yrs on my granite , can't vouch for quartz.

Spent yrs using vinegar and other things but had a cleaner who said she used viakal with no detriment to granite .

Other way is to use steel wool on limescale.

I have quartz and I always use 50/50 water vinegar.

it says here on a Silestone website that vinegar is not a problem www.silestoneusa.com/customer-service/quartz-countertop-maintenance/

Some manufacturers seem to have a blanket instruction about not using vinegar but it's only a problem if there's calcium carbonate in the "rock". So, Limestone or Marble would be dissolved by vinegar but quartz, which is made of silicon (or more accurately SiO2) would be fine.

My granite has been cleaned with vinegar for c.11 years and still looks like new.
