Getting tea stains out of a teapot?

Just that really - I've inherited a lovely teapot with a lot of staining... Can I get them out?

If it is a china teapot you can try using either Milton or denture tablets.

My grandmother used to leave hers to soak in warm water with Persil powder added overnight. I've never tried it but she swore by it.

Caveat: Might not be suitable if it's got hand painted decoration or gilding.

I bleach mugs to get teastains out, assume the same would work for a teapot...

put it in the dishwasher ? Mine always comes out spotless but are your stains really embedded? Worth a try if you haven't already/

Bio washing powder. Works like a dream.

Fill it up with hot water and washing powder.

I'd have to take the top shelf out of the dishwasher to fit in this monster teapot! It's three or four times the size of a normal one. I'll try washing powder first because I have it, then I think I could dig out some Miltons. A fun-filled weekend lies ahead! Though slightly concerned I might be destroying the flavour of ages Charming!

Tbs of bicarb then fill with boiling water and leave to fizzle for a couple of mins and rinse

OK I might have exaggerated but it is very large (called the gallon teapot):

I can't work out links on the phone... This has roses, mine is polka dot but I think that's discontinued.

Soaking in soda crystals works really well. I did this with all of MILs tea / coffee stained cups and they came up really well.

Charming is right - you're not supposed to remove the stains, they're important for a real cup of tea, that actually tastes of tea. Too late now though Sad
