Hello
We are moving house very soon. I think a bit of help with an exit clean would bea good idea. Has anyone done this? How much does it cost? Any recommendations?

most agencies where I live charge £15 per hour for one off cleans

I have used a company called Fantastic Cleaners a few times for:
oven cleaning
BBQ cleaning
Pressure washing garden & garden furniture
They have been excellent every time, I am thinking of getting them in to clean the windows. They do all sorts so have a look at their website. I don't have ANY connection with them, just a satisfied customer

I used Molly maids a few years ago for a deep clean after I had double glazing installed. They charged £200 for two people to do a full whole house clean. I did have to list the jobs in order of importance and they had a whole day to clean the whole house, however they didn't move furniture to clean behind.

they did a good job, the house was very clean and sparkling and it was a shame that it didn't stay that way for long! Is it a rental property that you need to clean?

Thanks.
Not rental. We are selling.

Your talking about £150-200 price range depending on house size and condition for a deep move out or move in clean.

Professional companies will not move furniture unless it can easily be lifted as it is too much liability on the cleaners bodies day in day out. Cleaning full time causes a lot of repetitive strain on cleaners' bodies and a good company will place in restrictions to minimise these. Its a health and safety requirement you see.

TheRealAmandaClarke · 19/03/2015 22:12

Well there would be no furniture to move, what with the removal men having already packed and taken it.
But yes, that's the figure I've been expecting.
Not bad for a few hours cleaning.

It takes around ten to fourteen hours, obviously you need a team of two or three on these type of cleans, one person would be shattered! Grin

Ten hours (five hours for a team of two) is in best case scenario ie small home in fairly clean condition.

I've known one off cleans of dirty homes to overlap into another day (these are mainly end-of-tenancy cleans but not always! A single cleaner couldn't do one of these cleans to our standard.

We can't take any bookings for one-offs any more as they take a team off the schedule for a day.

TheRealAmandaClarke · 20/03/2015 10:29

I see.
I cant see it being feasable. We're expected to be out at lunchtime. So I think I'll just get to ot from now and clean as the removal men shift the stuff out.
Thanks for the advice.

That should be ok - it's more than most do judging by the state of the new homes some of our clients have moved into, cigarette ash left in the sink and mud off the dog all up the walls, clients have called me in tears because of how their new home was left!

When one of our clients moves house locally we will do it for them as they are regulars but by god its not usually a pleasant day! Smile

We have to detail clean as a professional compnay because we are a high end service and very much accountable for the results but if you do some basic cleaning yourself you should leave it in better condition than most!

I'm finding it refreshing that someone cares about the next homeowner judging from our experiences with this! I would agree the onus should be on the previous owner to leave it fine not on the new resident to pay for a move in clean! It's good manners to leave it fairly clean!

TheRealAmandaClarke · 20/03/2015 17:15

Well, one must make an effort.
I remember moving into this house and it was a state. Really grimy.
In the future I would arrange a clean before moving in.
But we're buying a new build so am hoping its sparkling clean. Grin
