Anyone know about wiring ovens into a kitchen... please?

My Dad's oven needs replacing. He doesn't use it that often, so we wondered about getting him a second hand one e.g. off eBay. I just wondered about having it fitted though. Seem to remember that it has to be 'hard-wired' in or something.

Am just wondering if that is a big job and going to cost us a fortune with an electrician?

Anyone an electician, or have a DH electrician?

Fantastic - yes - there is already a cooker in there, and a separate (red!) switch near the worktop.

Does he know anything about mounting them inside fitted kitchen housing too?

Can I borrow him?

I have hard-wired in an oven when I was a student and didn't want to fork out for an electrician.

It is no harder than wiring a plug.

Think you are legally supposed to get in an electrician these days, but you could always say that it was wired in before the law changed
