Are Brabantia ironing tables worth the £££'s?

My mother still has the ironing board that my parents bought when they got married, no idea what make it is, but I am slightly annoyed that I am now on my 3rd ironing board.

Should I just bite the bullet and part with the best part of £100 for a brabantia, or will something else be just as good?

I have tried not ironing but the things that I like to wear need an iron!

Our Branbantia ironing board is 15 years old and still going strong. I don't remember it being megabucks though. My PIL also have one and I'm pretty certain they'll have had it since they got martied, 47 years ago. They have certainly had it for the 18 years I have known them.

I like my Brabantia board. I especially like the 10 year guarantee. I've only had it for a few months, though, so no idea whether it was actually worth the £70.

I've had one for about 15 - 20 years and it's good as new. Gets used a lot as well!

My mom bought one and she raves about it. I'm very envious as I have s crappy home base one and it takes longer to iron things (oh the exciting life I live)

My MIL has one and it is sooo massive and heavy but really good quality. I would say it's definitely over 20yrs old. We don't have space for such a monster in our house and I don't iron anyway so we just have the mini one from JL. If you iron a lot then I would say go for it.

I have one and have had it for at least 13 years. Its great. I buy a new C size cover for it every year (as a special treat).

I have had one for the past 30 years. It is a piece of wood with folding legs on it Hmm.

The legs still fold up nicely. The top has had various covers over the years and has layers of extra cotton wadding from the old Co-op.

I didn't know you could spend £100 on one Shock. This was just a fairly average, but not cheapest, ironing board price.

I did splash out £45 on a Tefal iron. It is much better and quicker than the Tosco one bought with vouchers, that went up in smoke (literally).

this is a the best ironing board I have ever used It is very solid.

I have a Brabantia one, cost me £45 from Dunelm Mills last month and it's brilliant. Makes tackling hte ironing mountain less of a chore - can have it at the correct height so I don't get back ache, it's very sturdy and the top is big enough to be able to handle large tablecloths etc without it taking forever.
