I have 90 square meters of tiles downstairs and an old incontinent dog! Need a steamer with long lead and can stay on for a decent period without holding a switch on! Help, you good ladies! xxx Budget prob under £150 isn.

Dont get morphy richards then as the switch has to be held and lead not hugely long. I will watch your replies with interest!

The Vax one is good, only not on varnished wooden floors as I found out to my cost. Nevertheless it does the job really well.

You have to turn the switch on to create the steam although they stay hot for a while, and not creating the steam means it's just a mop.

My friend uses shark steam cleaners in her boarding kennels and they work really well.

Aha, update for you all. I ended up finding a cheap one for £50, thought id try it and if it didn't suit then i hadn't spent too much! It is a Shark pocket mop and it seems pretty good (so good, now i wished id got one with attachments!!!). The lead is really long, continuous steam (with a sonic scrub mode). The water fill isn't very big so needs topping up a few times, but comes with 4 pads and seems great!!

I need one to steam clean my bathroom so I might buy the shark one as it's not too pricey.
