How to make plain flat voile panels for windows

Hello, I used to sew, but its been ages.
I need to make flat (as in ungathered) voile/cotton muslin panels for the windows for privacy.

How best to hem and how best to hang in the recess (that covered wire stuff and hooks? Can i use iron on tape to hem them ?

Thanks in advance

i'd think iron on tape on voiles would look hideous...just hem and make channels at the top (and bottom if you want) and use the covered springy wire to fix them in the recess.

I'd also go for a bit of a gather, otherwise it'll just look like you have grubby windows!

Sew a nice deep hem, say, 4 inches, with a hem stitch. If you don't have a sewing machine, hand sew it. Honestly, worth the investment of time rather than iron on tape.

Wired stuff with hooks would be fine, or a length of dowling?

great thanks - what about the sides? Reason for not gathering is I want less of a net effect, more of a sheer roller blind effect but not getting those as i am having them permanently down

When I had voile panels, they were hemmed with a narrow hem (as you see the depth) and a wide turn over at the top.

I used a pressure fit bar to put them up, which made life easy in terms of fitting

We have sheer roller blinds. They are down most of the time but let plenty of light in, and obscure the view from outside. Can't help on the method as we got them made. The company seemed a bit surprised about what we wanted, and were pleasantly surprised by the result. It's a very neat, and light way of avoiding being overlooked.
