How to get mildew spots out of baby toys?

Expecting dc2 and realised dd1s lovely playmat and the attached soft toys has some little spots like mildew on it, presumably from getting a bit damp being stored in the attic. Any way of cleaning it, and making it hygienic? The mat part has been through the washing machine machine once but some spots left. Some other bits couldn't be put in washing machine eg those that are attached to the main arches or have bells etc in them.

I miltoned DD1's playmat and toys and then chucked it all in the machine. Figured it was worth a try since it was going in the bin if I couldn't get it clean. It all came out fine. I even put it on a low tumble and then put the bits which still had a tiny bit of water inside the toy onto the radiator to dry completely.

Thanks Wings - the Milton dismissed take colour out of the mat? I am sure I remember ruining one if dd's nicest baby outfits by soaking in Milton solution after a poonami!

I dissolved it into a paste first with water and just spot treated the mildew. Didn't soak the whole thing. Colour was fine and didn't come off. Also did the same for jumperoo fabric and it was fine as well. That obviously didn't go in the wash and was sponged off with water instead

I discovered my icandy and high hair had bad mould on it so made a paste with biological washing powder and scrubbed the hell out of it and it seems to have worked! A couple of the more stubborn ones didn't shift but it looks good overall.

Thanks both.
