If you're home during the day, roughly how much do you spend in electricity?

We've just today received a new smart meter and so I will be watching it obsessively all day. Iv already worked out that if I leave the lights on in the utility room it costs 50p a day!

It's not the fact that I'm at home during some days that puts the electricity use up in our house, it's the fact I live with teenagers who use gadgets all the time and haven't realised that the on switch can also be used as an off switch. What I use pales into insignificance compared with that.

Mrs Miniver

quite right

I am actually currently paying 11.01p per kWh.

I don't know where the 6p came from.

Ah my 16.78p per kWh for electricity while not great isn't quite as bad as I thought. Plus 2.52p per day standing charge.
