I bought one of these 2nd hand. After the cycle there's water at the bottom of the dishwasher. Is this normal? If so how much water is normal?

Could be that the filter at the bottom of the dishwasher is blocked. Do you have the instruction booklet to show you how to take the various bits out for a clean? I used to have one of these dishwashers but no longer. Definitely shouldn't be water left in the dishwasher after a wash.

no there shouldn't be water left. You should remove and clean the filter at the bottom and check there is nothing stuck in the impeller (the cover should be down underneath the filter).

It might also be that the waste hose has a poor run so that there is water lying in it that runs back. Especially if it attaches to a sink trap.

The hose should rise in a loop to about worktop level so that water will not run back.

If the hose is lower than the water level in the sink, dirty sink water, tealeaves, bacon fat and potato peelings will drain from the sink into the hose and down into the machine. The same applies to washing machine waste hoses, if they are attached to the sink trap. An easy way to avoid it is to pass the hose through the side of the sink unit in a hole or notch cut right at the top, otherwise, tie it to a cup hook or something.

There shouldn't be water in it.

We bought one of these several years ago. We moved 10 years ago to a house with an integrated dishwasher, so gave our Bosch to my parents. It is still going strong, and they use it every day (as did we). It's at least 12 years old now and works brilliantly.

Good choice!
