Hello. I've finally "treated" myself to a stream cleaner and after the first use I have a couple of questions.

I found that the pad wasn't that great at picking up all the dirt and just pushed it around in places. Is this poor technique or overly dirty floors Blush? Would cat hair be a problem?

Also, the instructions say you should make sure the water tank is dry and empty before storing; how is this possible? The hole to fill/empty it is slightly inset from the end so it's a bit like one of those balance puzzles trying to coax the last few mls out. Does it come apart? The instructions for it (S7) are minimal.

Thanks in advance and any other tips welcome!

I've just remembered my other question - what do you wash the pads with in the washing machine? They seem too dirty ti put in with clothes....

I wash all my steam mop pads and microfibre cloths together in a hot was together with a little washing up powder but no fabric softener. I have a box in my hall cupboard that I chuck them into when dirty then wash all every week or so (I've loads of microfibre cloths and I bought extra steam mop pads from amazon)

Thanks. I think I'm just going to have to do more cleaning! I washed the windows today so I had another microfibre pad to put in. I did use washing powder - maybe washing up liquid directly on then would be better.
