My dishwasher is dying. Please help me replace it! Would prefer to spend less than £300 if poss. White or black would be ok. Help!

Slimline will be too small I fear. And would need to fill the gap with - not sure what?

A Miele would be lush...

We have a Beko.
I love it. I even named it. His full title is The Most Honourable George Marquess of Beko.

dementedpixie · 07/02/2015 10:20

ao.com has a few that are just under 600mm wide, mainly Whirlpool ones. They have free standard delivery and normally deliver very promptly so I would advise buying from them (normally good prices too)

Only1scoop · 07/02/2015 10:22

We have a Bosch....had one in old house also. Bloody brilliant never had a prob with either....touches wood

Cooler Eco wash also pretty darn good.

BinToHellAndBack · 07/02/2015 10:24

My Lamona is great. I'm renting and my landlords loved it so much they wanted to take it to their new house and buy a cheap one for us. It didn't fit the gap so they left it Grin.

It's the best one I've ever used in terms of a) actually getting dishes reliably clean, b) not breaking, and c) having useful sized and shaped places to put everything.

No idea of the price though I'm afraid.

PotatoesPastaAndBread · 07/02/2015 10:25

I have a John Lewis dishwasher (made by Bosch). Which? best buy and everything. It is shit. Hasn't broken down, but it's just shit. Doesn't properly wash things, poorly designed shelves with spaces too small, things fall over etc etc. It's so rubbish I prefer to wash up by hand rather than have it weld old pieces of food to the plates and I then pick them off and wash by hand anyway. (JL won't take it back as technically there's nothing wrong with it). My parents' dishwashes is spacious, efficient, quiet and has been going for 15 years. It's a Miele.

Follyfoot · 07/02/2015 10:37

We've got a Miele that has been going strong for years. Its got a tray for cutlery at the top which gives you lots more room below. The other really good thing about it is that the upper basket is adjustable so you can lift/lower one or both sides. Thats great when you have bigger items you want to put in the bottom. Would really recommend it.

sebsmummy1 · 07/02/2015 10:44

We have a Siemens, can't see a model number but it's the one with the cutlery pull out at the top. We have had it a year and a bit and it's been fab. My partner is pretty cunning at finding eBay deals. There are companies that sell off new white goods that have small cosmetic flaws. I think the dishwasher has a small dint in the side and because of that it was about £100 cheaper. Our brand new Eco bubble washing machine again was about £150 cheaper because it has a slight dint in the side and a scratch on the front. It lives in the garage so I couldn't care less lol.

TwoDogsNoHorse · 07/02/2015 11:03

I've got a [new] Miele.
It is fine - I like the cutlery drawer on the top. Somehow find it a bit small though. Wish I had two Wink but no room for that!
As to whether it was really worth the extra money...I think that will be down to how long it lasts really as it certainly isn't 3x better than our previous ones.

lastnightiwenttomanderley · 07/02/2015 11:08

Bosch Excel (i think).

It's a slightly higher spec model so has the cutlery drawer at the top (former meile owner!)

lastnightiwenttomanderley · 07/02/2015 11:09

Agh...*Miele!

Ruhrpott · 07/02/2015 11:16

We have a cheap integrated Beko and it works great. Think I worked out I could get 10 bekos for the price of one Miele. I got mine from coop electricals. Free delivery and hourly slots.

PopularNamesInclude · 07/02/2015 11:19

Yes, he is 10 yo but he's brilliant at doing the dishes.

pigwitch · 07/02/2015 11:26

Mine is a Bosch that I've had for 7 years. It's fab. We even brought it back to UK with us when moved from overseas - I couldn't live without it.

Unidentifieditem · 07/02/2015 16:29

My miele is the xxl one. Fits everything!! Would probably fit a student in for lodging...

SabrinaMulhollandJjones · 07/02/2015 16:39

Yes!

Grin

It's a Siemens IQ300.

DarylDixonsDarlin · 07/02/2015 16:45

Aeg dishwasher here couldn't afford a Miele at the time Grin it came with a 5year warranty but we haven't needed it - don't want to jinx it, but its been going for a month short of 7 years without any trouble and it works perfectly. Very happy with it, would have another one for sure.

Eastwickwitch · 07/02/2015 16:45

Currently have a fancy Seimens; clock on the floor, blue lights, zillions of programmes, but it's integrated and TBH a bit too small.

My old Miele with cutlery drawer was much sturdier.

SoupDragon · 07/02/2015 18:33

Clock on the floor? Confused

Eastwickwitch · 07/02/2015 18:35

The timer shines the numbers on the floor. Gimmicky.

SoupDragon · 07/02/2015 19:24

And pointless - I do not want my attention drawn to my kitchen floor :o

Purplecircle · 07/02/2015 19:25

My whirlpool one is 10 years old and has never gone wrong. It washes dishes, dries them and doesn't complain. It was about £250

SchnitzelVonKrumm · 07/02/2015 19:31

We had a Bosch and had to give it away when we moved. Now we have a Hotpoint (rented house) and it's shit - I have to buy a new cutlery basket for it every year because they are so flimsy and it has turned all my glasses cloudy despite being topped up with salt and rinse aid.
