Fixing a scrape on wood?

Specifically on the wooden back of a leather swivel chair. It isn't very deep but enough to take the surface off the wood and the lighter underneath colour is showing through. Can I fix it myself or do I need an expert?

HG scratch cover furniture polish - called meuble something. Sorry, not very helpful but B&Q sell it; it comes in light or dark. Works a treat on our scratched dining room table. You put it on with a cloth, leave overnight and buff with a clean cloth.

Thanks!

I've read that rubbin a walnut on a wood scratch works to cover it.

Rubbing even Blush

Was going to say try a walnut!

Behooven · 23/01/2015 19:53

I've never heard of that - is it the shell or nut (daft question)

Yes I have heard that rubbing a cut open nut on the scratch covers it as the oil released hides the scratch.

WerewolfBarMitzvah · 24/01/2015 10:39

Sorry - it's the open nut. It's the oily goodness as Varya says.
Hope it works!
