Thank You to the Internet.

This is an FYI:

Stumbled on another site discussing this issue, someone actually phoned the manufacturers and they recommended hot (hand wash hot) water mixed with some washing up liquid.

I used it, it worked a charm, took me about 15 minutes to clean the entire mess.

FunkyDude had some fun and I learned that 10.5 month olds can climb to get to things they really want.

Well I wish I knew that after dts decided to bath in sudocrem when I forgot to take it out thier room, the carpet was plastered, I could'nt get it out, so ripped the carpet up and chucked it.

wish I'd known that 2 kids ago! - Oh well, at least I'll know for this next one who will undoubtedly smear sudocreme somewhere in its life time. Thanks for the information.

Wet wipes do pretty well too

I used to be a carpet cleaner, and one of the problems we had was people putting washing up liquid on carpets. this and mouse stain removers foam up a lot, so it might get the stain out but when it dries it stays in the carpet and attracts dirt, and no amount of rinsing will get it out because it keeps foaming up. So after a few weeks there will be a dark patch where you put washing up liquid, I would use lemon juice in hot water

Wow, this thread is actually 7 years old - how on earth did you find it Catdave?

Catdave · 23/10/2013 05:22

Hi, I just Googled it, after my grandaughter put sudocrem on the carpet.

Just tried lemon juice and hot water, it didn't work very well so I used WD40 and it worked. I thought of using this after it got chewing gum out of a car seat completely.

Another good way of removing a lot of things like ink on a wall (and some fabrics), emulsion or gloss paint on fabrics, blu-tac or chewing gum on many kinds of surfaces is... HAIRSPRAY!! Works a treat on many things! Xx

I might even start a thread to let people know! :)
