Anyone want to join an Ebay Declutter challenge?

If we all start sorting out clutter now, we can have a competition to sell it on the next 5p Listings Day on Ebay. Winner is (obviously) the one who makes the most money and we all vow to spend the money on fancy new cleaning gadgets (I want some e-cloths).
Any unsellable clutter can find a good home too, start investigating local charities that help with rehoming people. Streamline that non-matching crockery collection!
It also finds a use for all those cardboard boxes we all hoard, all ready for postage.

Great idea, my ebay box is bulging, I have my shop stock listed but not done any second hand stuff for ages, I'm not going to wait for the 5p day though, it gets flooded.

Hmm now what can I buy with the procedes?

TortUREoiseChamber · 11/10/2006 13:31

Great idea.
Only problem I have is that my stuff doesn't seem to sell very well.
Not sure what im doing wrong!

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 11/10/2006 13:38

Fab idea, but everything i had to get rid of is now gone!!! Have done 4 car boot sales, and the bits that were left, i gave away on Freecycle!

One thing is left - my double buggy, but is advertised in the local shop!

PinkTulips · 11/10/2006 17:21

lol, i don't think anyone would want my crap!

RottenOtter · 11/10/2006 17:22

good idea but is it uggins of hard work

Bucketsofbloodydinosaurs · 11/10/2006 17:28

All right, if you can't make money from it at least try and Freecycle it, it's astounding what people want

I mean it about the crockery people, 12 mugs is more than enough for 2 adults.

New postage is a pain for a lot of the stuff I sell. A lot of it is chunky but quite lightweight. It is surprising what what people will quite happily pay for postage if it is fair, so get a free guide and scales (not free ) to make sure you charge enough.

Torty have a look at similar items to what you have to sell first, completed items give a good idea of what the final prices are. Some things just don't do well so charity shop gets them.

misdee · 11/10/2006 23:52

i need to sort through my dd3's clothes, she has so much stuff, i have 5 black bags of stuff in the loft just of her outgrown clothes. some of it needs to be returned to people we have borrowed things off, the rest can be ebayed. but it all needs sorting, washing and ironing

Skribble · 13/10/2006 09:14

I am away on holiday tomorrow so I will wait until I get back and see what I can put on Ebay.

flossieteacake · 13/10/2006 09:57

Just made £1.80 selling a gift book I don't want on my bookcase... am I winning?

youngmumoftwo · 15/10/2006 22:15

I just had a clear out of junk from my husbands study (old printers, speakers, clothes, baby junk etc). Over 3 weeks I made £600!! I was amazed! The clothes didnt sell very well though.
