Under where my old fridge sat is a patch of lumpy minging concrete with grime and crap about 100 years old. I can't get rid of the smell with anything I have tried so far...(although I have a highly sensitive nose dh can't smell it (?)

what can I use?

PLEASE help me I'm going maaaad!

i assume you've given it a good scrub with soap and water already?

sprinkle a nice layer of bicarb over it, that might help absorb any left over smell

Right.

Put some rubber gloves on, and crush a biological wash tablet into powder. Add water until it is a tick paste, and using a heavy duty brush, scrub it into the floor.

In the morning, scrub it with water again, leave for half hour, then scrub it off.

Thick paste, not tick paste

Offcut of new lino over the whole kitchen floor.

It's your own fault for being a SLATTERN. Too much lying around in bed, not enough cleaning.

Branster · 10/10/2006 15:48

have you tried bicarbonate of soda? i used it for the grout on my kitchen tile floor and they came out super clean.
you make a paste from bicarbonate of soda and a little bit of water, you spread it on the area you need cleaning, leave for a few minutes, then clean with a brush or cloth. it might work.

don't listen to satine, she doesn't even, like, know me or anything

currently the floor is covered in bio washing powder-paste and smelling a lot sweeter. it gets the bicarb treatment in the morning. (or whenever I can drag my lazy bottom out of bed)

thanks o' mumsnet wiseones x
