Tea Towel emergency!

My tea towels are a shocking embarrassment. Shocking. Holes, stains, horrifically ugly. I need to replace them all. Can you wise mumsnetters point me towards some naice tea towels which are good quality, absorbent, a decent size and pleasing to the eye? Please? I'm looking for the holy grail website for tea towels, like Soak and Sleep bedding (oh how I wish they did kitchen towels...). Anyone??

I've found the asda towelling style ones to last very well. I change mine daily so they go through a lot of washes..

Primark do very nice ones.

Mum bought some new ones from JL the other week - proper traditional glass cloths. Not cheap though.

I got really nice ones from john lewis. proper cotton, not linon, they don't crease and can be boil washed.

I have bought them from Tesco in the past but it was more out of convenience than anything else. Home&Bargain would be worth a look if you you do not want to spend a lot.

I'd certainly buy Tesco again, in fact, from above replies, seems most supermarkets and chain stores do good quality these days. What we need is another use for souvenir-type tea-towels, usually linen and need ironing and always donated by other people.

Use linen teatowels to dry and buff windows, mirrors, picture glass after you've cleaned them.

I got some great ones from century mills. they are the biggest tea towels i have ever seen,not like the cheap ones that will not go round a plate to dry it.i have washed them about 20 times and they are like new.this is the link

I'm currently using Ikea ones. After a good few washes they are nice and absorbant.
