Hydronic Plinth heaters.

The builders of our house put one in the kitchen & one at the bottom of the stairs.

They never explained what a hydronic plinth heater is, assuming it was 1-2kw to run it and we have GCH I never put it on.

But, reading the manual, it appears they cost 25w an hour to run.

Or am I reading the manual all wrong. It's a myson 500 or 600, helpfully the builders never ticked which model we have.

If it's hydronic it runs off the gch and then minimal cost for electricity to run the fan that pushes out the heat.

They put out a lot of heat but can be a bit noisy.

I have one in my kitchen. It's essentially a tiny radiator with a fan to push the heat into the room. It's not expensive to run, apparently cheaper than heating a large radiator and ideal for rooms that don't need to be very warm.

might "500" or "600" be the width, in mm? That is two common widths of (single) kitchen units.
