I which room do you use it?

Mine is currently in the sitting room as it's generally the warmest room in the house. Looks so messy though!

In the back 'study' (I use that word optimistically, it's just the box room DP has taken over). It does get warm in there with the boiler and the computer running, but DP is muttering about getting his books damp gradually, which is probably a fair point. When we start having the heating on properly I'll probably drag it onto the landing and leave it next to the radiator for some warmth. I have been tempted to put it next to the radiator in the toddler's room once she's asleep, especially if she's out of the house the next day and won't have a chance to play with it.

Our sitting room is the coldest room in the house, so no go there. We do occasionally use the dining room but then it smells of cooking food, which is disgusting on clean clothes.

We've got a bit heated towel rail in the bathroom and I think I'm going to start using that a bit more this winter.

BackforGood · 17/11/2014 13:06

Conservatory mostly, but then will come into the dining room (we call it that, but only use it for eating in about twice a year) if we get several days without any winter sun.

chelsbells · 17/11/2014 13:11

In the box room bedroom! We don't use it for anything else and with it being a small room it warms up really quickly so dries everything quickly. Totally dependent on where you have the space for it though

mouselittle · 17/11/2014 18:44

In the spare room so I don't have to look at it.

WonderIfThingsWillChange · 17/11/2014 20:25

I put mine in the airing cupboard, it just about fits and if I put washing in it to dry at night it's all ready by the morning Smile if not, it goes in box room or our bedroom if that's in use

MajesticWhine · 17/11/2014 20:29

In the living room. Classy.

wowfudge · 18/11/2014 10:10

In the utility room where I also hang up things which won't go in the TD.

HermioneDanger · 18/11/2014 10:14

In the hall by the study. It's tucked away from the rest of the flat so i can ignore it for days so it doesn't look messy and is by south facing patio doors so gets really warm, even in winter.

Nillia · 18/11/2014 11:11

In the sitting room. We live in an old stone cottage and have no central heating. There is always a roaring fire in here so everything dries overnight. I bought one of the Minky airers recently. It is a very wide one but was worth the extra money as the air can circulate better.

BlueberryWafer · 18/11/2014 11:11

Living room - my downstairs consists of a living room and a kitchen so not much choice..! Tried the spare bedroom upstairs but that made my house damp so I tend to out the log burner on downstairs in winter and the clothes dry quicker. Does look messy though Sad

Bunbaker · 18/11/2014 23:49

In winter it goes into the spare bedroom with the windows open and the door closed. The rest of the year it goes into the conservatory.

Deedeecupcake · 18/11/2014 23:53

At the moment it has it's own little corner in the lounge, as the fire will dry most things by morning. Moving house this weekend and haven't quite figured out where to put it yet.. The new sitting room is much bigger and far far nicer and I don't think I want my clothes horse to ruin it Hmm

Chasingsquirrels · 19/11/2014 20:49

conservatory

ChablisChic · 20/11/2014 14:08

Airing cupboard. Our big, walk in airing cupboard is probably what I'd miss most if we ever left this house, tis amazing.

IssyStark · 20/11/2014 16:53

In the hall (there's a long radiator) or in the bathroom.

ditavonteesed · 20/11/2014 16:57

in my bedroom, find it really adds to the ambience (only place there is space)

Pinkandpurplehairedlady · 20/11/2014 16:59

In the kitchen:( there's nowhere else to put it.

Findingthisdifficult1234 · 20/11/2014 17:01

The living room- but it makes the windows damp :(

TheFutureMrsB · 20/11/2014 17:02

In the bath, it's out of the way and can taken out when I want to use the bath but I usually just put it in overnight, bathroom is quite small so heats up quickly. Doesn't look untidy and out of sight too.

berceuse · 20/11/2014 17:45

I have two in the conservatory - in there because things dry quite quickly and we use the room less when the days are short.

I have just bought one of those retractable indoor clothes lines and plan on putting that up in a spare room to see how I feel about that as with two airers in the conservatory I use it less than I would without them in it (as I don't want to look at washing).

TooMuchRain · 22/11/2014 11:38

Conservatory or spare bedroom (with window open)

DarylDixonsDarlin · 22/11/2014 11:42

Conservatory. Three of them. And a dehumidifier.

calzone · 22/11/2014 11:45

In the bath.

This has changed my life. Smile

mausmaus · 22/11/2014 11:49

on the landing, top of the house. warm and well ventilated.

nosleeptilever · 22/11/2014 11:50

We have a "victorian airer" which is 4 long wooden bars on a frame. It is hanging from the ceiling at the top of the stairwell in a small two bed terrace. It is a bloody miracle and keeps laundry out if the way while getting dry in the warmest bit of the house. Everyone should get one if space allows!
