Dyson filter problems (dc39 animal)

Have had my Dyson for almost a year but the past 6 weeks or so I was having to wash the filter every week. This is as well as removing dust from it in between too.
It's recommended to clean the filter every month which I was doing before.

I hoover downstairs daily and staircase and upstairs 3x week so it's not like my carpets are filthy. We don't wear shoes inside and my cats are hardly ever in.
You can actually feel the vacuum losing suction during use. After cleaning the filter it's fine again.
I know I've got a 5 year guarantee but what happens if I phone them? do they send someone out or do I have to take the vacuum to a service centre?
anyone else had this problem?

They usually send a man round and they fix it there and then (most of the time) they even do it on a bit of carpet that they Hoover up afterwards to show it's working Grin

As much as I dislike Dyson vacuums, their customer service is excellent. It sounds like the cyclone system seals are damaged or blocked, causing excess dust to hit the filter. They will likely send you a new filter or cyclone assembly in the post or send an engineer round to take a look

Thanks. I suppose I'm worried that they'll try to say it's something I've done/am doing wrong to get out of repairing it on the guarantee.

It still sucks ok when the filter needs cleaned but definitely not living up to its 'no loss of suction ever' tagline.

will give customer service a ring.
