we have finally got a tumble dryer never been so exited over an apliance

iv never had one before so iv aired on the side of caution today with what I have put in.

I was womdering if people sat and sorted what could and couldnt go in with what the lables say or if you just chuck it in I hope for the best.

I know somethings cant go in wool but was sat looking at lables today and some of DPs tshirts say yes and others say no even tho they are the same material just different shops, everything from H&M I looked at today said no.

DP has some pretty expensive clothes so dont want to start shrinking everything

I think you need to follow the instructions on the labels. If it has a gentle smoothing programme or a dryer basket you can sometimes dry delicate things that way, but only the more expensive brands do that.

it does have a delicate setting don't know if that would work

did put a couple of cheaper tshirts in that said no but they had been out on the line all day so only put them in for 10 minutes to finnish off snd they were fine.

Do go by the labels for now and buy things in future which can be tumble dried.

I find that, yes, you can get away with putting in some things which say they can't be TD'd when you have other stuff of the same composition which you know can go in. Cheaper clothes seem to be more susceptible to shrinking, but once you've had them a while and washed and dried them naturally a few times, they will often be okay in the TD (and sometimes you are less bothered by then).

If you have bras which say do not tumble dry then don't put them in because they probably won't shrink, but they loose their elasticity and don't last as long.

If you are concerned about whether something can go in, choose a lower temperature if your machine has one or let it dry naturally until barely damp then put the item in to dry off.

Its Dps clothes im more bothered about I'm at home with 2 DC so don't wear anything expensive on a daily basis.

as long as its not raining I hang washing out so a lot of stuff will just need finishing off.

it has loads of setting still finding out what they all do
