Blender vs processor??

Sorry if this has been done but want opinions on which to get. In an ideal world I'd have a huge kitchen with loads of storage...but i dont!
I make a lot of smoothies but could do with something that chops up and mixes solids without liquid for occasional use.

Is there a product that accommodates both?

You could get a stick blender with a processor attachment - they're not huge but are good for breadcrumbs, small portions of crumble etc.

I had a processor and a blender but got rid of the blender because I never used it and it was a pig to clean - I use a stick blender for soups and smoothies, which is much easier to clean.

You can't make more than tiny amounts of soup or smoothie in a processor, mind - it tends to find a way out.

Thanks, yes i have a stick blender now but it is beginning to burn out and i find that its just not cutting it with the slightly harder fruits and veg. I suppose i could get another one and a processor but was really looking for something all in one if there is such a thing!?!

A separate jug blender is good if you use it a lot.

A big processor on the worktop is a nuisance if you don't use it a lot.

In this house a Chef and attachments overflow from a cupboard. Does anyone really use a sausage maker?

I use my processor about four times every week but barely pull out my blender. I use a hand blender for smoothies in the large plastic cup it came with. There is a small machine just for smoothies - I think it's called a Bullet or something like that - which doesn't take up much counter space. My processor sits in the pantry so counter space isn't an issue there.

Thanks for coming back to me...someone did mention a bullet! May have to look it up! Ive heard they are amazing and i make smoothies everyday but not sure how much i'd use a processor?!

I have a blender I very rarely use, a food processor I use regularly and a stick blender I also use regularly. We have lots of storage space, albeit not in the kitchen itself. The stick blender means no transferring things from pan to blender and less washing up.
