Recommendation for good pans?

Have had the Meyer Circulon ones for the last 7 years and they have been fantastic! However, I have been putting them in the dishwasher (meant to handwash only) and they are just about finished because of it. It eats away at the adonised (sp) coating apparently. I'd like some pans of similar quality BUT that I can put in the dishwasher.... Any ideas - need to get them soonest really... TIA

Boring subject I know but could potentially be an expensive mistake if I buy ones that are crap.

Anyone.... ?

I always go for stainless steel ones - bought a tiered jobby (for steaming veg etc) from Asda a few years back and is used constantly (well, slight exaggeration )and still looks good - only drawback is that the handles get hot.

Haven't actually tried them, but Lakeland have just started doing their own range, which come in either a non-stick or a stainless steel finish - both dishwasher safe, apparently.

Thanks. Ooh JackieNo those look excellent - I love anodised ones as they cook sooo well and do not stick (that is until they've been thru the dishwasher!!). I am surprised that they can be used in the dw but may have to give them a go - thanks! Happy now - doesn't take much lol!

Pampered Chef pans are impeccable and you can get them discounted (or even free!) if you host a kitchen show party. Great icebreaker for playground mums too.

Twohoots · 28/09/2006 15:34

Thanks ladies. I like the Lakeland ones but also been told Jamie Oliver does some with Tefal that are meant to have come out v well in tests.... hmmm. They are for Xmas so have bit more time to research.

Have a Pampered Chef party anyway because they're fun and you'll want to show off your de-flyed home.

~Those lakeland ones are aluminium doesn't that make you have alzheimers or something?

Also the anodised ones have metal handles, do they get hto?

Twohoots · 28/09/2006 17:02

CD - there's not much hope for us then as we use anodised alu ones already! Oh dear lol!

BUT, you make a v valid point about the handles -am afraid I've promptly gone off them as yes handles like that get too hot! So thanks for reminding me

JO's are looking good then! Bless him!

Bought new pans just the other week. Original pans were aluminium and started to look very strange inside after a few years. Then had a good set whose handles are now disintegrating, I think from the heat of the dishwasher. New ones are Judge (make) and have 2 things I wanted 1) glass lids so I can see what's happening in there and 2) little dented bits at the sides, COUPLED WITH deep rims to the lids with perforations at one part iyswim, so that pouring is a skoosh. You just birl round the lid to the perforations, tip up....and voila! Dry as a bone and all veg still inside the pan, instead of bunging up the plughole in the sink. Work brilliantly - v. pleased with them.
Also think I need to get a life.

There are some at Robertdyas and they have 20% off first orders until Saturday. I ordered some things and they arrived really quickly, very impressed!

alibobble · 28/09/2006 20:02

Sorry, not read rest of posts but I have some judge ones I got in Debenhams. THey are brilliant and are v dishwasher safe. Work on all hobs incl my mum's fancy pants induction hob!

I have some tefal specific ones from Sainsbury's and they're on sale at the moment (18cm for 8.50, 16cms for 4 quid, half price!) so I snapped another one up this morning. Absolutely fantastic, never stain & they've stood up to the dishwasher (we had meyer circulon ones before that, same problem). Actually they look like new after six months. They do frypans in the same range too.

Thanks AQ - I have my heart set on the JO ones I think. They are going to be for Xmas (boring I know but MIL ALWAYS likes to buy 'useful' presents for bdays/xmas so she'll be 'over the moon' to buy us these!). I am sure DH had some great Xmases when he was little - NOT! They even fold up the wrapping paper neatly and reuse next year - I kid you not LOL.

Twohoots, go for Jamie Oliver if someone else is paying for sure! I have been very keen on his serving dishes etc, but don't think I'll be given any anytime soon...

bea · 01/10/2006 22:43

stellar pans are brill... dunno about putting them in the dish washer though!

Twohootsandapumpkin · 16/10/2006 20:06

Bumping up for emily05
