Flying with kids...avoiding clearing up so read through a bit of this. Picked out a few good tips.

*Get kids there own timer. Mine love the challenge.
*Zone the kids rooms and include school bags. So say bookcase- Monday, floor- Tuesday, uner bed- Wednesday etc and school bags- Sunday. Not as daunting as go tidy your room.
*Have a basket or box for each child and fill it with their stuff as you tidy, mine are on the bottom 2 steps of the stairs, they take them up and put away each day.
*Get kids to lay out their own clothes for the next day, make it fun and get child to make a clothes kid, perhaps on the end of the bed. Giant Art Attack style.
*Make up morning, after school and before bed routine sheets for each child, laminate or put in poly pocket so they can cross out/ tick each thing done. They know exactly what is expected of them and what is still to be done.

I will go and do some work now will I instead of just talking about it .

BarefootJasnem · 27/09/2006 13:57

I like the things to do while the kettle boils. I can combine with the pelvic floor exercises

I'm being very lazy this week
I've sorted the coats/hats /gloves etc and got stuff to take to charity shop tomorrow ready by the door.

I've tidied the cupboard in my bedroom, but whatever I do to it it is still too full

Going to fold and put away washing now.

Skribble · 27/09/2006 13:59

Damm I knew I forgot something, .
11- Pelvic floor exercises.

Hello Everyone. I have had a so so day. DS1 did not want to goto school. I still dont know why, Hes not ill or anything like that. he just kept on saying he hated school. Hes been and said it was ok but does not want to go tomorrow. His teacher said hes been fine all day. She is going to have a chat with him tomoorow to see if he will say anything to her.
shaz.... I love the bit to do when on MN
I have done Kelly's mission and just the normal bits to day, so no extra FLYing.
DD is now asleep, so I am going to put DD to bed and then read with DSs.

tortoise · 27/09/2006 19:18

Evening FLYers.
Im shattered!!
Out all day so no FLYing! Need to do some before bed just need the energy to do it!
Sounds like a good day had by all.

HN hope teacher works out why ds not want to go.Might be because of not seeing xp1.

hazelnuts · 27/09/2006 19:44

tortoise, I wondered if it was not seeing xp1 too. I have not asked him or said anything about that yet. I have told his teacher that though, she said to say nothing about it to him. See if he tells or asks. He did ask after xp1 did not come on saturday. I just said I did not know why daddy did not come to get them. I could not say working, as I did not know what he was doing, I dont want to lie to DS1. Going to put him to bed now with cuddles to see if he will say anything now the other tweo are not around. Then I need to do the tea things. Today seems to ave been a long 1

My house is actually presentable enough to have MIL round for lunch on Friday. We are going to a coffe morning at the school. I will shock her by bringing her back to mine for lunch instead of going out like we normally do.

I could really shock her with fresh flowers on the table and some homebaking, I don't know if she could handle that .

Don't know what to make for lunch, I always do omlette when we are at hers, any ideas??

So I will need to get, flowers and doilies tomorrow .

tortoise · 27/09/2006 22:37

No idea! Glad you are able to invite her round now.
Im still in CHAOS!

Skribble · 27/09/2006 22:49

Well she may have to wear blinkers, but she is used to me by now, I normally have a mad mArathon tidy up if she is coming round, if they pop in unexpectedly I just sit and cringe while she perches on the edge of a pile of washing sipping her tea politely.

tortoise · 27/09/2006 22:50

I really hate it when someone pops round unexpectedly!
