Stomach bug-cleaning/laundry afterwards...

Hi all, we've had a nasty but thankfully short stomach bug wipe through us all-three out of four of us have had it and come out the other side (albeit delicately!) since last night, the jury's still out on whether the five year old is yet to succumb or if the mild diarrhoea she had today is the full extent of hers.

Is 60 degree's and tumbling bedding, towels etc that have been vomited on enough or should I 95 degree wash them? What else could I do as a standard post sick cleanup? (Would you believe my eldest is 5 and we've never had this before!) I was thinking a dilute bleach solution wiped over door handles, switches, bannister etc?

when you wash the bedding, towel etc, add Dettol into the fabric conditioner part of the washing machine drawer. You can get lavender smelling Dettol now

kitchen spray with bleach is good for that kind of cleanup. Sponge off. Drips may damage carpets.

I would do maximum 60, drying in the sun and wind will help. Or tumble dry on hot, that should do it. Nasty business, hope u all feel better soonConfused

Thanks everyone.

It was indeed a nasty business, being heavily pregnant, dealing with a toddler with D&V, coming down with it myself and praying my eldest didn't get any worse whilst my DH succumbed whilst working away and was too ill to even drive home was probably my lowest point in quite a while! Luckily it didn't last long, it's just taking me a little longer to get over it than the children, I'm pretty sore still.

I just wash stuff as normal, you've all had the bug, you won't catch it again.

No point in wasting energy on stupidly hot washes and money on disinfectant bar what you used to clean up at the time.

60 degrees which is what bedding should be done at anyway. No need for anything else.
