how do u get them out?

I've tried vanish both liquid and oxy., washed on 60 twice and they;re now on the line in the sun (well sort of sun) hoping that it comes out but if it doesn't what else is there to do? I know no one sees em really but I don't want him to look like a scruffy urchant! lol.

Hiya Munz - have had exactly the same problem with all 3 of mine and have ended up buying new vests every time which drives me mad but have honestly no idea how to get the stuff out!!!

Lizzylou · 25/09/2006 16:19

All our white vests are poo and food stained......have just got some navy and red ones for autumn winter as was soo worried!

Nothing I've tried has shifted the stains!

Munz · 25/09/2006 16:51

lol - least we're not alone then! (if I find a solution i'll let u both know! lol) it's only his 6-9 which are white (the basic cheapo ones form george but well u like em to be white don't u! lol)

A bib?

Munz · 25/09/2006 20:55

a bib goes in the mouth - I strip to the vest and then used to do a bib but it's straight in the mouth so I don't bother now - ok then we'll be having a knaked little man in future then! lol - tbh it didn't occur to me to take the vest off lol.

Make up a bowl of Miltons sterilizing fluid and soak them in the bowl overnight.

Takes it right out usually

Piffy · 25/09/2006 22:06

I think I've cracked this one - orange bibs! Boots have some at the moment in honour of Halloween, they are not too hideous and stains do not show at all ha ha!

Alternatively the bibs that they sell for crayoning kids - with arms and very long fronts, protects clothes a treat. George at Asda have some in red and yellow - OK they are pretty nasty looking, but they do the job, especially if you are out and about and naked baby is not an option!

tortoise · 25/09/2006 22:09

Shout spray is great at removing stains.Even old ones that have been washed loads of times and stored in the loft for a year!

Munz · 26/09/2006 08:09

soapy - a mum in mothercare actually said that to me - but I was worried about bleaching them - althou I guess if they're already white! (will try that today as the sun didn't go anything! lol)

Tortoise - thanks will try yourt one as well if the milton doesn't work.

piffy - like ya logic!

Think it's carrot which causes those stains. Have never been able to get it out. I just fed dd in a vest (which no one sees anyway).
