So I seem to have got to the point in my home (again), where its reasonably clean and tidy however in need of a deep clean. Thinking about getting a cleaner in to do this so what do you consider to be a deep clean? I was thinking inside of kitchen cupboards, all floors, skirting boards, windows, moving sofas, under beds.. Any ideas would be great thanks as I may do some jobs myself to keep cost down Kate

Also dust lampshades/wash glass light fittings? Hoover/steam clean curtains and blinds? Shampoo-ing carpets (or at least the ones in the busiest areas e.g. hall/living room)?

When we moved into our house we had it deep cleaned first as it was previously rented by a smoker (and we have 2 small DC). Our deep clean was EVERYTHING (including washing down walls, cleaning carpets and cleaning oven) as well as the things you list. It depends how far you want to go. I would think that washing down walls (painted ones, we don't have wallpaper) is probably as step too far for most people!

Yes to all of the above, plus cleaning oven and extractor fan filter.
