Just bought what I thought was a self-defrosting freezer but it turns out it is manual - should I return it?

Grrrrrr. I specifically told the sales assistant I wanted no-frost!! My fault for not checking. It will be delivered on Friday so I can call and cancel the order if I need to.

Is it worth the hassle? Shall I just put up with it or change to a no-frost (which will be $$$ more probably). I thought at the time it seemed good value compared to the researching I'd done online!

Convince me - I've never had a freezer before except at the bottom of the fridge......which had to be defrosted every few months or you couldn't open/shut the drawers.

Change it quick. I love my frost free one.

it should be noticeably cheaper than a frost-free freezer.

One disadvantage of frost-frees is that they go wrong more often, when the air ducts at the back become choked with ice and they don't maintain a cold enough temperature. It takes a long time to melt the ice blockage out. A plain freezer is very simple and not much to go wrong.

But if frost free is what you want, cancel the order.

Ok you've convinced me PJ.
(Still not looking forward to defrosting it though!)
